       Individual Membership - Graduates and Associates of the College

Graduates of the College of Biomedical Engineering and Technology

Graduates of CBET are persons who have been in the class of Associates I of CBET for a period of at least three years or have met the requirement for Associates I. They have also met the minimum educational and training or professional requirements having obtained the College's Professional Diploma in Intermediate Biomedical engineering I. They also have had not less than seven years of experience in biomedical engineering and technology or in the practice of biological, medical, physical, engineering, environmental or management/social sciences as it relates to health or human wellbeing.

Associates I of the College of Biomedical Engineering and Technology

Associates I are persons who have been in the class of Associates II of CBET for a period of at least two years or have met the requirement for Associates II. They have also met the minimum educational and training or professional requirements having obtained the College's Professional Certificate in Basic Biomedical engineering. They also have had not less than five years of experience in biomedical engineering and technology or in the practice of biological, medical, physical, engineering, environmental or management/social sciences as it relates to health or human wellbeing.

Associates II of the College of Biomedical Engineering and Technology

Associates II are persons who have a minimum of a first degree, higher national diploma or their equivalents in biomedical engineering and technology or in a relevant field, including the biological, medical, physical, engineering, environmental or management/social sciences from institutions approved by CBET Council. They have also had not less than two years experience in their professional practice relevant or as it relates to health or human wellbeing. The NYSC discharge certificate may be used for one year experience in the relevant professional practice.

CBET usually admits every first time applicant of its membership to the class of Associates II provided the individual has declared his intention to qualify for admission into the class of Associates I as required by the relevant provisions.

Any person who has been in the class of Students for at least three years, has completed his/her NYSC and has also completed all the courses in Foundation Biomedical Engineering programmes of CBET may be exempted from being Associate II; such a person can proceed straight to the class of Associate I.
