Entry into the College of Biomedical Engineering and Technology (CBET) is usually by Individual Membership, which can be as Associate II (for new graduate entrants) and as Students (for undergraduates). From this level the individual is expected to undertake the mandatory career development courses of the College to earn his/her transfer to subsequent categories of College membership.
However, companies and corporate organisations desirous of affiliating with the biomedical engineering profession will do so through the
Association of Biomedical Engineers and Technologists of Nigeria NABET.
Individual Membership of the College of Biomedical Engineering and Technology (CBET), is open to all science professionals in the various industries applying their knowledge and expertise in the broadest sense of biomedical engineering and technology as well allied sciences. These include such activities as teaching, research, consultancy, management, production, marketing, sales, software and contract carried out in the manufacturing, process, service, educational or research industries and organisations. The requirement is that all these activities shall be concerned with achieving good health and wellbeing of man and the society.
New entries into individual membership start with Associate II (for graduates) and Students (for undergraduates).
All classes of membership are by application of the individual except those of Honorary Fellows, HonFCBET and Honorary Members, HonFCBET of CBET. The CBET Council has exclusive jurisdiction for nomination and election of Honorary Fellows and Honorary Members of the College.
